Remember, the MOST important part of hiring is Role Alignment.

They say in the movies, write what you know.  So I’ll share an experience we’ve had.  An applicant sends a great cover letter.  The interview on the phone is fun and it turns out we both speak French and we both cried when Guns and Roses came back to the concert.  She’s a “Perfect Fit For The Company” I think in her 2nd (and final) interview.  I don’t need to call references and I’ll overlook the fact that she was at her last job for 4 months and the one before for 3 months. She’s smart and funny and I love her and it’s going to be great.

First, be honest and clear. Begin with the job description. Start with a job description that details precisely the role responsibilities and expectations. Describe how your company functions and how potential employees can see themselves fitting into the company culture. A large portion of companies (51%) do not offer a branding message that is clear and concise. Once you have posted your job applications, be sure to update your job board at least every 15 weeks to ensure applicants are up-to-date.
